Making Valentine Hearts and Love

http://www.with-heart-and-hands.com/2015/02/making.html

I love to combine paper and fabric and have made my own simple special occasion cards for as long as I can remember! But inspired by others who also do this, I decided to start making a new allotment since all of mine had been given away to family members over the years!

I keep them as simple as I can so I can make lots and lots of them but I don't like my super messing stitching to show, so I double page them and stick glue a plain inner section once the outer section is creation.

I make fronts and backs and just for fun, I have an extra station where I use my featherweight sewing machine for this. Yes, I know, it doesn't have any zig zag stitches, but remember I'm the artsy, messy, liberated quilter so that's doesn't slow me down one bit!

I just zig and zag with wild abandon and sooner or later its all filled it. And that's inspite of card stock being quite slippery..only furthers my fun if it really goes zonkers on me.

Sleep deprived on a continual basis, I do my best work with less than 3 hours of sleep. I don't care how it turns out so there's no pressure on me, the pressure feet are never engaged in my mind, my heart, or my hands.

Full speed ahead! I've made half a dozen from start to finish before I got busy on rescycling Bird Seed Bags and Other Fun  and of course, my new project....Making Fidget Quilts for Alzheimer's Patients..oh, yes, I am also a very distracted quilter!

And not a single day and sleepless night goes by that I don't wonder...am I just sleep deprived or is my DNA kicking in...why I commit to Alzheimer's projects one way or another!

Oh wait, now I remember why I do so much! I'm making new neural pathways in my brain!

I've got my own back and am making more!!!

Love the valentines! I could use a few new neural pathways right now. :) Maybe it is time to get back to the sewing machine...

Great cards :) I used to make quilted postcards. They were fun and I embellished them at whim :)

In a time, when fewer people leave comments, even on those blogs that they started off with and became personal friends as a result, I SO appreciate those of you who take a moment to leave a message here. Yes, I have a really big blog presence, but with that comes a lot of quilters/bloggers who choose to not leave a note. I know it takes time, something we all have less and less of...so please know, it means a lot to me. On long challenging days, they buoy me up. So, thank you so much!
