The term is borrowed from the French word bricolage, from the verb bricoler, the core meaning in French being, "fiddle, tinker" and, by extension, "to make creative and resourceful use of whatever materials are at hand (regardless of their original purpose)".
I am most definitely French, well..half French..and I am most definitely a fiddler, tinker, and love to make creative and resourceful use of just about anything I find, am given, or come up with from the sum of any parts.

I started blogging in October of 2006. I felt a strong need to connect online with the creative community that had recently gone wild and was an incredible amount of fun as we all shared through blogging, quilting, crafting, sewing, and making art of all kinds.WITH HEART AND HANDS: FREE QUILT BLOCK PATTERNS
It was a vibrant period in the blogging and community quilting worlds and the friendships that immediately sprung up were such a gift and such a blessing.

HOW TO MAKE A QUILLOW (AND FOLD IT BACK INTO A PILLOW!)
For home...
and family...in both Oregon and Alaska ...
So, yes...I am busy in a lot of diverse and mentally, physically, and even creatively spiritual ways!
Spending time with loved ones...my husband, three grown kids and their partners, my beloved grandbabies and pets and all of our families and extended family....
Bits and pieces of our lives, no matter how simple...or how complex...all stitched together with love.
So, if you don't see me here...
or here.....
or even here....
or oh yes, here...
It's because I am here/there/and everywhere.....in my real "dreamtime" of life....and maybe not in this virtual one. I will still be doing the things that mean the very most and make the biggest difference..in my life..... and the lives of those I love!

We all need to dim the lights a bit, practice our deep breathing, calm the pace of our lives, go within to the core, the center, the calming focus of our lives.
We access that inner flow, enter the presence of peace and harmony. in the simplest of ways, with the simplest of things....yet continue to manifest the creative impulse ....
.....and share, support, and communicate with others...
......as I do.....
with love,
and
with my heart and hands....

Carol from Beads and Birds:
I can't expand my virtual life beyond the blog world...or I should say won't. I check FB once a day to see what my kids and out of town family are into, but that's it. I cherish the quiet moments gifted to me by the Universe so I can tend to myself and my need to create whether inside or outside. And I must visit my frogs everyday who constantly remind me to enjoy the simple things.
xx,
Carol

Hi Michele I tried to comment on your blog however can't. As I read your post I was thinking oh no, not another blogger leaving the blogging world. Life happens and seasons change however I would definitely miss you and miss seeing all you've been doing with your gift of creativity. You are such a blessing to others and to me.
I do hope all is well in your world. Hugs
Michele, you re such a blessing to me so I hope you will be around for years to come. You lift me up when I am down and I appreciate you so much. Thank you for all you do.
Glad to hear you are still humming along...so glad xxoo
Your life is certainly a bricolage! Bits of this.. pieces of that.... going here and there and everywhere, sharing, giving, tending, caring for, creating... you continue to inspire and amaze me! I don't see how you get so much done.. and I enjoyed seeing your wonderful crafting spaces.. and love seeing that you sew at that big old desk! First and foremost, take the time you need for YOU and your families and charity projects that you love so much... hugs and blessings to you... Marilyn

Since you have comments turned off, I am emailing my comment to you.
Most of my favorite blogs and the ones I still read and respond to are those that don't feel they have to post a blog every day. They wait until they have something of substance before posting. Yours is one I still subscribe to and read every time you do post as it seems to always touch my heart and you inspire me. I don't do FB, Instagram, etc. I no longer follow blogs or businesses that do all or most of their postings on those sites. Thank you for being you and sharing your life with us. I also hope your blog never goes away.
God bless you.
I really liked is post..
