The New Colossus: Lifting the Lamp

"Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand

Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she

With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Symbolism of the Cross...Feeling and finding the center and using its powers for manifestation from the very center of all there is . Feeling the energies of convergence,  the power of transmutation of matter, bending the universe at will to manifest change and direction in your life, and understanding energetically, how to use the blessed and divine given gifts for helping others become who we were all  meant to be and be a part of of..not greedy, not selfish, not separated but part of the entire life's journey to unity and wholeness...the holiness of One.

The 5 Most Basic Laws of the Universe:

1. The Law of Potential

You are pure consciousness that has manifested into physical form. This consciousness that you are holds infinite potential and responsibly.

You have the power to feel the potential of your consciousness through meditation, prayer, and other spiritual practices. You have the power to understand how consciousness manifests by opening your eyes and your heart and seeing what has been created..the dark as well as the light in the world around us. When the can understand the potentiality you can understand the very nature of sin. An ancient archery term is originally meant "missing the mark." If you/we/us miss the mark then it is within each of us to choose again.

2. The Law of Frequency and Reflection

Everything in this Universe carries a frequency. This frequency is carried by, and extends from your entire being including your thoughts, emotions, and actions. But in the essence of the true energies of karmic action and reaction, this energetic and vibrational frequency then attracts experiences, people and circumstances back into your vibrational field.  What you put out into the world through your vibration and through your energy comes back. What we send out, returns to us again.

If every experience that comes your way is a reflection of your inner state, that means that every experience is here to teach you a valuable lesson about who you truly are and what you can overcome.

3. The Law of Attraction

You have the ability to attract things into your reality based on the energy that you are creating. This is the act of power of manifestation.

The more you focus on something, the bigger it grows.... and the more you think about something, the more likely you are to notice it. Like attracts like, so the more you can align yourself with the vibration of what you want to attract, the more likely it is to manifest in your life.

When you start aligning with your potential or pure consciousness, you automatically start sending out a vibration that is aligned with your highest path. This vibration then attracts the perfect opportunities and circumstances into your reality.

4. The Law of Karma

There are certain experiences that your soul has come here to learn. These experiences are your karmic points of growth that you are meant to experience.

The law of karma ensures that you are always learning and growing from your past, and moving forward to help expand the consciousness of this Universe. Without the expansion of the Universe, the Universe ceases to exist.

5. The Law of Oneness

We are all connected, which means that what we do to others we do to ourselves. We are not only all connected and part of the whole and holy so whatever we do to another, we also do to ourselves.

Therefore..do unto others as you would do unto your own self. And 'to thine own self be true.' There is no need for fear of others or of competition. We are already connection, all part of one another. The air that I breathe out, you breathe in. The air you breathe out, I breathe in.

Every atom of my being mixes with every atom of your being. Our cells within are like the stars without. Vast spaces of the ethers lie between them but those vast spaces are microscopically minute in the grand scheme of the Universe.

We have enough, we are enough and thus according to the divine plan, if we open our hearts to these concepts, embrace them and live them, we become a part of the whole and holy and manifest the world we want to see and to be.

We do not just bear the weight of the symbolic cross alone, for all of the stores and legends passed down to us in all major belief systems are there to guide us and teach us. The heros and heroines, the angels and spirit guides, the ancestors and forefathers and foremothers are all part of us, part of our soul, our spirit, and our DNA.

We become one with its manifestation and use its intersection to join the energies of a new and better direction for our world and all who live in it.

As we walk through the shadows, even the shadow of death, we come to understand how death has no meaning, it simply marks one step in a long line of steps that lead us on our soul's journey. The shadows are part of all of us, they are the yin's balance to the yang, the balance of the darkness to the light.

We are mightier than we can ever imagine for we are part of the Divine, the One, the Ah-men of the inhale and the exhale, the Alpha and the Omega..from the very beginning to the very end which has no true end but simply begins a new journey through timeless space and never ending energies of creation.

You are blessed today and every day, in all ways. Open your heart to the magic and the mystery, the sacred and the divine. That is who we are.

My heart joins yours as we share this long... and what may often seem very challenging earthly journey together. Even through the hardest and most painful of times, we know that this too shall pass for we can become all that we were truly meant to be.

We will build a new world from the ashes and the embers of the old one. Never doubt that. That is our lesson and that is our path. We have created this world, and we can manifest the changes through love of a new and even better one..the world that we all yearn to live in and the people our heart's yearn to be.

Blessings today and everyday.
~M.

Pieced and Quilted by Michele Savikko Bilyeu
April 2015

The project involved:

122 Cross Blocks
Created out of friendship for Mary Lou Weidman's healing journey with stage 2 breast cancer

From 32 quilters across the USA and Canada who just plain love her!

Healing Comfort Quilt: 75 blocks

Pillowcase Styled Quit Case: 32 blocks, 16 per side

Pieced and quilted by Michele Savikko Bilyeu
Salem, Oregon

April 2015

Front:
                                                               70 Pieced Cross Blocks

Back:
Timeless Treasures: "Quest for a Cure" and "Faith" fabrics
+
5 Additional and very dear Cross Blocks to match!

Any and all small remaining blocks will be made into a Prayer Flag for the People of Nepal,
With our thoughts for our mutual friend Andrea Balosky (Nyima Lhamo of Nepal) and all of her friends, family, and country people of Nepal and its surrounding areas.

And if you can't see your block, trust me some of yours is in there somewhere. I couldn't quite get 122 into the quilt but I did my best doing what I did and no block goes unloved and used for this cause!!Many are in the pillowcase sham..two sides, and others are going into the prayer flag garland!!!

My thanks to the wonderful and loving quilters across the USA and Canada, who donated their beautiful cross blocks and made this quilt possible. Thank you to those who donated fabric, scraps, and money for batting and thread. And many thanks to Yvonne Porcella, who told me to cut the blocks and the quilt size down or it would be too heavy! And to Mary Lou, herself, for all of her support, her advice and her help..and yes!..Mary Lou made some of the blocks, herself! She knew fun when she saw it! And she shared the process with her quilting groups as she worked her way through California on the way back home to Spokane and her earthly treatments. Bless you, Mary Lou!

I dearly loved making this quilt and am grateful to have been able to do so. I managed to listen to everyone's advice and kept it to the 'throw' or 'comfort quilt' size of 4' x 6'. It feels just right in all ways!

It is being mailed today to Mary Lou who is undergoing treatment for Breast Cancer, knowing that the healing power of love from the Divine through our hearts and our hands, will fill her to the brim and carry her through all that she needs to do to be healed in mind, body, and spirit, from the challenges of this disease.

We love you, Mary Lou!!!

The Mary Lou Weidman Healing Power of Love Cross Quilt

Postnote:
For some reason, blogger occasionally double posts my blog entries. One of the many interesting things that happens in my world. I always see it as an opportunity to choose to redo my blog looking for duplicates, or just leaving it in and seeing if it goes away on its own ;-)  So, the next post is the original one, this was the update after I made a correction...it went into a whole 'nother edit box. I changed the wording slightly so I could tell them apart. I once deleted a duplicate post..only it was the original one. Boy, was that fun! You can't put back what you've already deleted! I'll leave them both for right now!
