Holiday Happenings With Heart and Hands

Hope you had a safe, happy, and wonderful 4th of July!

A lot of work at our house with pruning, weeding, lawn mowing, holiday decorating, cooking, cleaning, barbequing.....but all in all....what a beautiful and fun day!

It felt good to be an American and to be blessed with lovely weather, good friends, wonderful family, and a lot of food to eat! And oh yes, the cat and chickens had great fun, too! Kermit, the cat, spun in circles in an empty basket under the food table and Georgette, Penelope, and Matilda (the chickens) lined up at the edge of the back deck to watch all of our doings with amazement!

And yes, lots of quilty fun came out and was used for the holiday with a half dozen patriotic hotpads, a quickly made 'patchwork' tablecloth, a patriotic table runner, a dozen cloth napkins, a flag garland on the side fence, a little quilted heart to add to a basket of gardening tools, a patriotic quilt to toss over the bench and a little pillow on my own wildcrafted twig chair from last summer's fun!

I do so love home made fun!

Now....

Time to rest up!

  4. Haha..you'd feel like Goldilocks in either chair. Kermit claims them both and when a cat stakes a claim..look out!
