I Need Friends...

+ One day last week, I finally joined Facebook.
- The very next day it was announced that they are 'sharing' our phone numbers and addresses.

+ One day last week, I finally got my new eyeglasses picked up.
- The very next day, I couldn't even see the computer screen or read a book.

+ One day last week, I uploaded a large list of email contacts into my Facebook memory file,
- The very next day, Facebook got mad at me, said they could not be my potential friends,
put me in time out, and said I couldn't have any new friends for two days.

+One day this week, I got out of Facebook time out and had a a few days to realize just how it
all works, how it is so amazingly competitive and addictive for so many people.
-As soon as the mind reading Facebook spies knew I had made this brilliant discovery,
Facebook put me in time out with no ability to request friends for 4 more days on top of my
last two days!!!

+ One day last week, we were planning a car trip to attend a beautiful wedding.
- The very next day week, gas went up by 20+ cents a gallon and then up and up some more.

+ One day last week, we made it safely to the Monterey Peninsula and then back again even if we did have to drive 13 hours both coming and going in one day each, only one day apart.
- The very next day, several very hard, and very challenging family events made us glad to be home in time.

+ Life is now in perspective. Some things are just more important than others.
+ Life is filled with challenges, big and small...and I truly know now that I really do need friends.

But I am still in time out, so if you are on Facebook please befriend me.

Do you notice it says I have 'no status' .....goodness me, how dare they? ;)

And if you are not on Facebook , thank you for being my blog friend, which frankly is even better. Blogger doesn't put me in timeout...oh wait a minute, I think they do! I 'time out' all the time!

And please say a prayer for all of those in Japan or with loved ones there. To all of you reading from there...we care and we care deeply!!!!

I guess when you look at the bigger picture...we all need friends.

Thank you all for being my friend.

I just love your blog. You make me laugh when I need to and feel for you and your challenges. You are hilarious.

Forget Facebook, it sucks your privacy away...I love your blog and visit it regularly!

Thank you, anonymii!!!

I thought it would be a way to connect with real life quilters who never visit my blog.

HA! They are in their own Facebook world, anyway! And all I can see is that people constantly upload links to videos.

I've never joined Facebook, have never been to even take a look and plan to never be a part of it. I'm glad I can call you friend through blogger. So much better in my books. Hugs

I enjoy hearing from quilters on facebook.I never click on any links or videos though.I'm surprised they haven't put me in timeout...I spent most of my childhood there :_)

I don't do Facebook. I'm a geek, and spend enough time in front of computers already. I like my privacy, and the security of Facebook (or lack thereof) scares me. I much prefer blogging, and I am very happy to count you as one of my friends.

Sending you a hug too, because it sounds like that's what you really need.

I'll continue to be your bloggy friend, but count me on out FB. I've joined under my blog name but social networking just seems to be a time sucker, so I'm not on. take care -- it sounds like you have a lot going on.

I don't do Facebook - I'm a member but seldom there! :-)

I peek over your shoulder on a regular basis but don't always a leave a comment - can I be your friend anyway? :-) I love bloggy friends.

Michele, a mi me gusta mucho visitar tu blog!!! y el facebook casi no lo utilizo!!!!. Realmente estoy muy triste con la catástrofe de Japón. Un beso

You just crack me up Michele, you are one in a MILLION, dear friend!
So sorry for your FB woes, I have no idea how you could get into such a "fix". I'm so happy to have known you here first, since you only "sorr of"get to know folks on FB. I think we each use it to suit our needs and wants, be it games or grandkids.
The Universe does seem to continue to challenge you to new heights of patience and understand. God bless all you do for others, and each new thing you take on. Big hugs, Finn

I just sent you a request to become a friend, but I must admit I have a Facebook account that I very rarely use. I do, though, read your blog in my Google Reader on a daily basis.
I hope things are going to be OK in your family!

I'm honored to be your friend, Michele, and especially pleased that we met through Lib-Quilters and AAQI. As you said, we all need friends; just knowing the friends are out there for us can be enough to sooth us when we are upset, frustrated or just discombobulated.

I do Facebook a little and can't understand your time outs, poor thing.
Hope all is calmer for you this week.
Thinking of you and thanking you for your friendship,
Kathleen

I'll be your friend (already am!) But NOT on Facebook! No, no, no for me!

About a week ago, I re-joined FB and promptly unjoined the following day. All I got from it was trouble....what a pain! There were all kinds of error messages...I was made to change my password again and again as it said my account was compromised! I took that as a sign that I should not be there! So, I'm totally done with it!

Blogging is much better!

Have a great weekend!

Hugs, Karen

I'm on facebook and I'm surprised they haven't gotten upset with me too for the things I post there. I keep my friends list short because I'm not into collecting friends just for the sake of it. But I'm enjoying your blog so I'll sign on as a follower.

You are so right... friends are worth more than most understand. I'm glad we are connected through blogger. :)

Have a great weekend!

I will go friend you. I always forget to go look at my account half the time.
They could have put me in timeout and I would never have known.
Hee hee.
Oh well at least I always read blogs.
Saves gas too I think.
Love reading your blog.

I discovered this blog through an interview you did on another blog. The blog is lighthearted, helpful and informative and hopefully I will be able to find something I can complete! I have never done anything like tthis before but after picking up a few old copies of 'perfectly patchwork' magazine in a craft fair I have to have a go!

I am also new to blogging so hopefully I will pick up a few tips to make my blog more successful too!

Thanks!

PS, I would like to echo your sentiments re Japan xx

Well hello dear blogging/FB and everything else friend. Check yourFB settings. Everything must be friends only so only they can see what you're up to and not the rest of the world. I think that may be your problem.

As it happens, I don't care whether it's Blogland, FB, AAQI, Liberated Quilters or what. You're still up there in my top ten buddies!

Libya has alot to answer for. When they get it sorted the price of petrol/essence/gas will go down

Well, you have a ton of friends, dear lady!! I am not on facebook, but I am still your friend anyway!!! Hugs to you!

If you request too many friends too fast they put you in time out, and if you do it too many times, they take your account away permanently. So if you wish to continue to FB, be careful, and only do a few at a time. I will send you a request, even though I spend most of my time on blogger, or in my sewing room.

Michele, I am happy to be your blogging and facebook friend. I did not know that facebook timeout existed but hopefully they have got you sorted out and let you have friends again. Your post made me burst out laughing.. you are too funny.
Thanks for being my friend!

Your point is well taken about the things that are truly important - The natural disaster in Japan and Christchurch are horrible- If you are interested in a first hand account go to Taniwa's blog( link on my blog)
Warmest regards,
Anna

I'm on Facebook a lot and I've never heard of a timeout. I tried to find you and saw many Michelle Bilyeus but none with your profile picture. I have your blog in my feed and prefer reading it there anyway. I can catch up when I'm in the mood. I love FB for keeping up with the everyday happenings in my friends' and families' lives.

It was a busy week for you...I haven't had any problems with facebook, I'll try to friend ya. Hope you had a wonderful weekend!!

Deb..you come up without an email addy..a no reply blogger.

I am one of those one 'l' Micheles. Otherwise all of my alter egos that aren't me come up.... and they get me in enough trouble in the world as it is!!!

Friends or no friends, I refuse to do Facebook. Not for contests, not for voting, not for anything. Too much technology in my life already. I'd rather be stitching!

MARCIE said...

You are so funny. I don't know enough about Facebook to know about timeout, but think we are friends there. I never quite know what to do with it and prefer my blog, but I have to say that when the earthquake hit Japan I knew right where to go to see if our granddaughter there was OK. She posted right away on FB and she is fine, she's farther south. And yes, we pray for them all over there. Heartbreaking.

I think Facebook must think you are a spammer because you have so many friends. I have an account, but I don't post there - they talk about information leaks all the time - I thought I had all my security settings on top level, and then they changed the settings and made them all low again. I don't mind lurking, and since I blog, it isn't like I am that private a person, but I would rather decide what gets shared with whom.

I have a SPECIAL facebook account only for my sewing, doll and blogging friends. I use my moniker "seabeegirl" and don't add any personal info. I sent you a friend request on FB - don't know what the time out is - maybe I should I have a couple people I would like to put there
