Skating Sue Welcomes January Fun

I had to laugh when my youngest of four brothers confessed that after I left home in '68 to attend college 'in the States'...he inherited my ice skates. That's how it goes when there are five kids in your family...you make do with what you have, and pass it all down the line... one by one.

What made me laugh (and laugh hard!) was that my ice skates...oh, how I loved those ice skates!...were white with a blue lining and had beautiful fluffy white fur ruffs on the tops! I can just picture my burly brother skating along in those....out on our frozen Alaskan lake!

If you want to skate through life, you take what life gives you and make the best of it...and not only that, but you have fun in the doing!

Hee! I know he had fun anyway...but that is a funny thought for sure!! We too inherited clothing, and with older brothers, I ended up with a lot of plaid shirts and overalls!

Ah...yes...I think we all passed things down more than is done today. I love that January Sue....did you make that?

That's so funny but at least he used them. I was wondering about that gorgeous January photo too.

Too cute, Michele! I love the story. Don't faint, but I'm starting to get my crafting mojo back. Everyone made me feel so much better about my blog return that I went out and bought fabrics to make a quilt. Friends are good, aren't they?

P.S. It's me, Junie Moon. I had to use Anonymous 'cause I'm having trouble with my password.

Thanks for the chuckle. I grew up with 3 older brothers and almost got the black hockey skates to learn skating with. LOL
Thanks to Mom though, I also was able to skate with the white fur trimmed skates that also had the medium soft blue lining.

That's very cute. But in my family things seem to work the other way. My younger brother is a technology guy and he's handing me "up" his digital camera because now he always uses his HTC to take pictures!
