The Significance of 123456789 Today

Today, we witnessed and lived through a once in a lifetime opportunity. We all experienced the sequential time...... in perfect numerical order......of 123456789. That breaks down to one second of time that only happens once in an entire century. Only once in 1,000 years, can it ever be 12:34 (pm) and 56 seconds on 7-8-09.

Now some mathematicians say it comes once in 100 years. Others once in 1,000 years. And Miguel Lerma of the Northwestern University Math Department writes that 12:34:56 7/08/09 arrives in August for countries that put the day before the month in numerical date abbreviations. Some countries even use the year/month/day designation, which means their 7/08/09 was two years ago.

But, I think that any and all numerical sequential significances are awesome! And most likely, I won't see the second 100 years anyway...so it's still a once in a lifetime event!

So, what were you doing at 12:34 and 56 seconds today?

That's so funny. I think it was about that time when we were looking at our clocks, and saying, dang, we missed 10:11!

My favorite tiles too! I think I was eating lunch and reading "My life in France" by Julia Childs.
